Still on vacation. I stayed out at a remote, historic lodge at Oregon Caves last night. No Wifi, but after the fun cave tour and a lovely dinner, I sat out in the lobby in my jammies and wrote for hours. Great atmosphere.
Had a chance to check email finally and was notified that One More Wish is now up on Dreamspinner's Coming Soon page. :) Always a fun milestone to hit. Releases in three weeks.
Also noticed that Amber Quill is having a month-long storewide sale in September: 25% Off all novels, novellas and kisses. So if you haven't picked up The Swap or Stranger In Black yet, now's a good time! :)

2011--Summer of the Road Trip
Heading to the beach tomorrow. And since that's not enough of a trip, we're also dipping down into CA then circling back up to Crater Lake before going back to Sunriver Resort. So...eleven nights on the road. Last blast of summer vacation before school starts after Labor Day.
Oh, and if there are any criminals out there casing my posts to make sure my house is empty, feel free to pick beans and tomatoes and help yourself to the squash.

Ambitious Goal and a CONTEST!! Simple guessing game to win your choice of ebook!
I took a look at my writing plans for the coming year and it wasn't pretty. In fact, it was pretty helter-skelter. SO I made the somewhat ambitious promise to myself that I would finish all my current works in progress before 2012. My reasoning is that finishing up these languishing manuscripts will get them off my mind as well as off my to-do list, making it easier to be creative and concentrate on future works.
As for the contest, it's super easy: The first person to guess how many current WIP's I have to complete, wins either their choice of ebook from my backlist OR an ebook copy of my September release, One More Wish. One guess per person, here on my blog only, please. To help narrow it down a bit, I define a WIP as something I have at least one scene written on, with main character names and a working titles. I have more than two and less than a dozen. Okay, guess away and good luck!! :) Meanwhile, I'll be writing!

Home Again and Writing Again
1650 miles in two days, and we made it home Wednesday night. Grand total of 3898 miles over two and a half weeks...all driven by yours truly. We didn't degenerate into the road-trip-from-hell family portrayed to the left by any means. But it is a funny picture (thanks Melia and troops for the use of it!).
The best part about getting home was the weather. LOL! Everyone knows the horror that was Midwest weather over the past month... and we were there in the thick of it. And I do mean thick. The humidity about killed me. After living in New England, Florida, Texas and various Midwest states over the course of my life, you'd think I'd have some immunity to it. But nope. Oregon has made me wimpy. It was a lovely 78 degrees with 24% humidity when we arrived home, dropping almost into the 50s overnight. Heaven.
Rory and Benny fans: One Wish is getting two new stories this fall. Just finished the second one today. The first will be One More Wish, which is Benny and Curtis' book. I got the preliminary sketch for the Paul Richmond cover last week, and let me just say WOW! I can't wait until it's painted and I can share the finished product with you! One More Wish will release at Dreamspinner Press in mid- September. And today I finished writing a short story featuring Rory and Jared and Benny and Curtis, which will be a free read in October. It's titled In The Wild, and it's outdoor nudity, dragons and manlove all wrapped up in a sweet little package!
There will be at least one more novella in the future for One Wish, but I have a couple of other projects to finish first. Marines and pilots. Mages and weres. And sugarplums dancing in my head. :) My muse has said that's enough teasing. Time to get back to work!!
